SMWDC - Missile Defender of the Year 2016
170113-N-DD818-2353 ALEXANDRIA (Jan. 13, 2017) Missile Defense Advocacy Alliance's 2016 Navy Missile Defender of the Year recipient, Petty Officer First Class Nathaniel Lynch, is joined by Vice Adm. Dixon Smith, commander, Navy Installations Command, Rear Adm. John Wade, commander, Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center, and Captain Jim Jones, Integrated Air and Missile Defense Division Director, Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center. Petty Officer Lynch, stationed on USS John Paul Jones (DDG 53), took on the leading petty officer position for CF division and led 20 sailors through a compressed training cycle while his division simultaneously conducted 16 successful live firing missile events, of which two were the longest surface to surface and surface to air missile firings in Naval history.
