  NC1(SW/AW) Valerie L. McNairy

Navy Counselor First Class McNairy, a native of Houston, TX, graduated from Bellaire High School in June of 1997. Received her BA degree in Early Childhood Education from National University in 2009 and her MA in Human Behavior from National University in 2011.

Navy Counselor First Class McNairy entered the Navy in June 1997, attending SN ATD in Great Lakes, IL in September of 1997.

Her sea Duty Assignments include NAVCHAPGRU October 1997 to November 1999, USS COWPENS(CG 63) January 2000 to June 2000, USS MOBILE BAY (CG 53) June 2000 to June 2001. USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN 76) October 2004 to November 2007 and Pre-Commissioning Unit ANCHORAGE (LPD 23) currently.

Her shore duty assignments include CNRSW Security Detachment San Diego, California from August 2001 to October 2004. Training Support Center San Diego from November 2007 to April 2011.

NC1’s awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (One Gold Star), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (Two Gold Stars) and various campaign, service, and unit awards.
