CDR Chris Farricker is a native of Port Charlotte, FL and is a 1998 graduate of The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science.
As a Division Officer, CDR Farricker was the Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer onboard USS MCCLUSKY (FFG 41) and the Auxiliaries Officer onboard USS JOHN YOUNG (DD 973). During both tours, he conducted Arabian Gulf and counter-drug deployments.
As a Department Head, CDR Farricker was Chief Engineer aboard USS OSCAR AUSTIN (DDG 79) and completed an Arabian Gulf and Horn of Africa deployment. In February 2006, he reported to Riverine Group ONE and served as the plank owner Operations Officer. He was the first Riverine deployed to Iraq and served there throughout 2007, conducting patrols along the Euphrates River and was the Riverine liaison with II Marine Expeditionary Force (Fwd), Multi-National Forces-Iraq and various other units throughout the Iraqi Theater of Operations.
In February 2010, CDR Farricker reported to NATO Training Mission-Afghanistan / Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan (NTM-A/CSTC-A) as the Assistant Commanding General-Police Development lead for the Afghan Ministry of Interior’s Ministerial Development. During this time he coordinated 250 coalition and joint personnel in the development of 25 Ministerial Development Plans and conducted training for the new members of the Afghan National Police.
His shore duties include the Naval Postgraduate School where he received a Master’s degree in National Security Affairs. Additionally, he served onboard Commander, Second Fleet and US Fleet Forces Command. At both commands, he worked Navy requirement issues in the N8 Directorate.
