CDR Wayne S. Gehman
A 2001 graduate of Marquette University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Cmdr. Wayne Gehman was commissioned through Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps and served in a variety of sea and shore commands.
At sea, he served as anti-submarine warfare officer, force protection officer, and electrical officer aboard USS Underwood (FFG 36); operations officer aboard USS Germantown (LSD 42); operations officer aboard USS Fort Worth (LCS 3); and executive officer of USS Montgomery (LCS 8) Gold Crew.
Ashore, he served as an instructor, training division officer, and as the full mission bridge tactical simulator manager, Surface Warfare Officers School Command; director of operations and plans (N3) at Commander, Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Squadron ONE; and LCS mission package requirements branch head in the Surface Warfare Directorate on the Chief of Naval Operations Staff (N96).
Gehman earned a master’s degree in international relations and homeland security from Salve Regina University and completed his Joint Professional Military Education through the Air Command and Staff College.
His current assignment is commanding officer of USS Montgomery (LCS 8) Gold Crew.
His awards and decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards) and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), as well as other unit and service awards.
