Command Senior Chief

Senior Chief Petty Officer Alvarez is assigned to the USS RODNEY M. DAVIS (FFG-60) as the Command Senior Chief home-ported at Everett, Washington. A native of Southern California, he enlisted in the United States Navy in July 1996. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois he completed Personnelman “A” School in November of 1996.

Senior Chief Alvarez served at sea with USS JOHN A. MOORE (FFG-19); USS CURTS (FFG-38); USS NIMITZ (CVN-68); and as an Individual Augmentee for Special Operations Task Force North, Bakuba Iraq.

Assignments ashore included: Pacific Fleet Recruiting Command, Littoral Combat Ship Squadron ONE, and Coastal Riverine Group ONE out of San Diego, California.

After his selection to the Command Senior Chief Program (CSC) in 2012, he attended the CMC/COB Capstone Course (Class 125) and the Senior Enlisted Academy (BC 51), Newport, Rhode Island. Senior Chief Alvarez holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.

Senior Chief Alvarez’ decorations include the Joint Service Commendation Medal; Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (Two Awards); Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (Six Awards); and the Army Achievement Medal along with various other unit and campaign awards.
