LCDR Erich Udo Schaller
Executive Officer (July 2013 - November 2013)

Lieutenant Commander Schaller was commissioned through the Naval ROTC program at the University of New Mexico in May of 1999, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science.

His previous tours at sea have included serving as Assistant for Surface Operations on the Staff of Commander, Carrier Strike Group ONE, Operations Officer in GOLD Crew, USS FREEDOM (LCS 1), Combat Systems Officer in USS FORD (FFG 54), and division officer tours as Fire Control Officer in USS WASP (LHD 1) and Damage Control Assistant in USS MITSCHER (DDG 57).

Ashore, he served as lead instructor for the Tomahawk Mission Planning course at NMITC Damneck, Virginia and completed an Individual Augmentee tour with USCENTCOM J5 (Plans & Policy) in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. He earned a Master’s degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island.

LCDR Schaller reported as Executive Officer, USS VANDEGRIFT (FFG 48) in July 2013.
