Commander John P. Baggett
Executive Officer

Commander Baggett assumed duties as Executive officer, USS PREBLE (DDG 88) in September 2018. A native of Harrison, New Jersey, Commander Baggett graduated The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, where he received his commission in the United States Navy via the NROTC program in 2001.

His sea assignments include Strike Officer and Damage Control Assistant in USS HUE CITY (CG 66), Navigator in USS FITZGERALD (DDG 62) and Chief Engineer in USS BOONE (FFG 28). He commanded Patrol Coastal Crew JULIET in USS WHIRLWIND (PC 11) and USS SHAMAL (PC 13).

Ashore he served as the Surface Warfare Programming Analyst, Chief of Naval Operations Staff, Programming Division (N80), and as Operations Officer, Afloat Training Group Middle Pacific.

Commander Baggett holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science conferred from The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina. Additionally, he holds a Master of Science Degree in Operations Research conferred from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.
