Commander Ted Wiederholt is an Iowa native and entered the Naval Service in 1998 after graduating from Iowa State University’s NROTC program. He holds a Master’s in Public Administration from Iowa State University and a Master’s in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College.
Commander Wiederholt’s first sea duty was in USS NASSAU (LHA-4) as Assault Division, Main Space One Division, and Repair Officer. Subsequent sea tours include serving as Fire Control Officer in USS PORTER (DDG 78) and Weapons and Combat Systems Officer in USS CHOSIN (CG 65).
Shore assignments include duty as a NROTC Navigation and Surface Warfare Instructor at Iowa State University and two tours in the Pentagon on OPNAV’s N3N5 staff and Joint Chiefs of Staff Europe, NATO, Russia division.
Commander Wiederholt recently served as Executive Officer in USS SHOUP (DDG 86), homeported in Everett, WA.
Commander Wiederholt’s personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medals, and various unit and service awards.
