Commander Kathryn Dawley enlisted in the Navy in September 1997 as a Fire Controlman. She was selected for the Enlisted Commissioning Program and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Old Dominion University in 2003.

She served in USS Hawes (FFG 53), as Communications Officer and Damage Control Assistant, USS The Sullivans (DDG 68) as Chief Engineer, and at Destroyer Squadron Fifty (CDS 50) as Current Operations/Material Officer (N3/N4).

Her shore tours include serving as the U.S. Pacific Fleet Executive Assistant to the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, Readiness, and Training, Pacific Fleet (N3/7) and Fleet Training Officer, Executive Assistant to the Commander, Navy Region Hawaii/Naval Surface Group Middle Pacific, and Posture and Policy Branch Chief for U.S. Pacific Command Strategic Planning and Policy Directorate.

CDR Dawley holds a Master’s of Science in Systems Engineering Analysis from Naval Postgraduate School.
