CDR Douglas J. Pegher
Executive Officer (May 2014 - November 2015)

Native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Commander Pegher graduated from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 1993 with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. He was commissioned in December 1997 after successfully completing Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, Florida.

Commander Pegher’s first sea tour was in USS MOUNT WHITNEY (LCC-20) where he served as First Division Officer and OI Division Officer. His second Division Officer tour was Navigator in USS MONTEREY (CG-61).

As a Department Head, Commander Pegher served as Engineer Officer in USS ROOSEVELT (DDG-80). His second Department Head tour was as the Material and Logistics Officer (N4) in COMDESRON 22.

Ashore, Commander Pegher attended the Naval Postgraduate where he earned a Masters Degree in Space Systems Operations. He has also served ashore at COMNAVPERSCOM where he served as the PERS-41 Data Analyst. His most recent assignment was to USNORTHCOM where he served as the Future Operations Branch Chief in the Ballistic Missile Defense Division.

Commander Pegher’s personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal (4), the Joint Achievement Medal, the Navy Achievement Medal (4), and various service and unit awards.
