USS Paul Hamilton’s (DDG 60) Sailors and their families enjoyed the third annual Family Picnic on Aug. 31, 2018.
The ship’s Morale, Welfare, and Recreation committee hosted the event at Adm. Baker Park in the Mission Valley neighborhood of San Diego.
Crewmembers in attendance were greeted by a competitive cook-off, games, and plenty of food.
Ensign Fred Keyhea, one of the event organizers said “it was a large task to plan this picnic, but it was well worth the hard work to see everyone have an excellent time. I am already looking forward to next year’s family day.”
The picnic capped off the summer months for Paul Hamilton families and provided a respite for the crew, which has been readying the ship for unit-level training.
Fire Controlman 2nd Class Jessica Tercey, the MWR president said “it is really nice to see everyone having a good time after all of our efforts over the last year. The food was great and the company was even better.”
Fire Controlman 1st Class Logan Hutson, Ensign Anthony Kloszewski, and Ensign Dan Camuti worked as grillmasters for the day, serving up a meal for the crew and their families.
