|CDR Sean E. Whiteman
Executive Officer (April 2019 - July 2020)
Originally from Houston, Texas, CDR Whiteman enlisted in the United States Navy in January 1993 and attended recruit training in Orlando, Florida. CDR Whiteman graduated from Electronic Warfare Technician class "A" & “C” schools in April 1994.
CDR Whiteman’s initial sea assignment was in USS JOHN S MCCAIN (DDG 56), where he completed four deployments and conducted a homeport shift to SEVENTH Fleet. Ashore, he served at Naval Space Operations Command, where he was assigned as Alternate Space Command Crew Commander, controlling a 20+ worldwide sensor network tracking all manmade objects in Space.
CDR Whiteman was commissioned via the Limited Duty Officer program as a Surface Operations Officer. As an Officer, his sea tours included USS IWO JIMA (LHD 7) as Assistant Operations Officer and Combat Information Center Officer; USS MITSCHER (DDG 57) as Assistant Operations Officer; and USS SAN JACINTO (CG 56) as the Weapons Officer and Combat Systems Officer. Ashore, he has served as the Director of Combat Systems for Afloat Training Group Atlantic, in the Commander’s Action Group for Commander, Naval Surface Force Atlantic and as a LCDR/ CDR Detailer for the Director of Surface Warfare Officer Distribution (PERS-41).
CDR Whiteman’s awards include Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals (seven awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals (five awards), Good Conduct Medals (two awards), and National Defense Medal (two awards).
