CDR Richard A. Robbins Jr.
Executive Officer (May 2015 - September 2016)

A native of Reston, Virginia, Commander Robbins graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Economics. He holds a Master of Science in Leadership and Human Resource Development from the Naval Postgraduate School, and a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College.
At sea, his assignments include Electrical Officer, Damage Control Assistant, and Navigator in USS PRINCETON (CG 59), Chief Engineer in USS HALSEY (DDG 97), and Material Officer at COMDESRON SEVEN.
While Chief Engineer in HALSEY, the ship was recognized as the COMNAVSURFOR Self-Sufficient Ship of the Year in 2008, and received the 2008 Secretary of the Navy Energy Conservation Award, #1 in Small Ship category. Additionally, he was the recipient of a 2008 Navy Marine Corps Association Leadership Award.
Ashore, he served as the 9th Company Officer at the United States Naval Academy, a Strategic Planner at United States Special Operations Command, and the Deputy Combat Systems Officer at ATG San Diego.
His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal with four gold stars, Joint Service Achievement Medal, and Navy Achievement Medal.
