|CDR Ryan Rogers
A native of Sherrills Ford, NC, Commander Rogers is a 2001 graduate from North Carolina State University and received his commission through the NROTC program. He holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
At sea, Commander Rogers' assignments include Main Propulsion Assistant onboard USS REUBEN JAMES (FFG 57); Navigator onboard USS THOMAS S. GATES (CG 51); and Chief Engineer and Combat Systems Officer onboard USS MASON (DDG 87). He has deployed multiple times to the FOURTH, FIFTH, SIXTH, and SEVENTH FLEET Areas of Operations. Additionally, he has served as part of Commander, U.S. SEVENTH FLEET staff embarked on USS BLUE RIDGE (LCC 19) in support of Joint Special Operations Task Force-Philippines (JSOTF-P).
Ashore, Commander Rogers has served as a Gas Turbine Training Team Leader at Afloat Training Group Pacific; Flag Secretary to Commander, Expeditionary Strike Group THREE; and Deputy Chairman of Seamanship and Navigation at the United States Naval Academy where he had the privilege to re-instate celestial navigation back into the professional curriculum at USNA as well as lead and mentor Midshipmen at sea along the Atlantic Seaboard in both 120’ Yard Patrol (YP) Craft and Navy 44’ Sail Training Craft.
Commander Rogers was selected as the Destroyer Squadron TWO 2010 Tactician of the Year award winner and is authorized to wear the Navy Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, and Craftmaster badge.
