|CDR Jesse Mink
Commanding Officer (October 2017 - April 2019)
Commander Jesse Mink is a native of St. Petersburg, Florida. He graduated from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina in 1999 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He received his commission through the Navy ROTC program.
CDR Mink served division officer tours onboard USS LABOON (DDG 58) as First Lieutenant and USS PORTLAND (LSD 39) as Training Officer. His Department Head tours were onboard USS FITZGERALD (DDG 62) forward deployed to Yokosuka, Japan as Weapons Officer and then fleeted up to Combat Systems Officer. He is currently serving as the Commanding Officer of USS JOHN PAUL JONES (DDG 53), he assumed his command in October of 2017.
Ashore, CDR Mink served as Assistant Chief of Staff and Congressional Liaison to the Program Executive Officer, Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS) in Washington DC; Director of Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) for NAVEUR/NAVAF/COMSIXTHFLT in Naples, IT; Surface Warfare Analyst for Warfare Integration on the Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV N9I) staff, and as Deputy Principal Assistant Program Manager (PAPM) for Aegis Baseline Development in PEO IWS while also working as Principle Assistant to the U.S. Maritime Theater Missile Defense Forum (MTMD-F) Project Manager and USA National Point of Contact (NPOC).
CDR Mink holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Defense Financial Management from the Naval Postgraduate School.
His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal the Navy Commendation Medal, the Navy Achievement Medal, and various unit and campaign awards.
