CDR Casey Mahon
Commanding Officer

A native of Syracuse, New York, Commander Mahon graduated from Norwich University in 2001. He received his commission through the Norwich Naval ROTC Program.


His afloat assignments include Electrical Officer in USS MAHAN (DDG 72), Navigator in USS BUNKER HILL (CG 52), Operations Officer in USS ROOSEVELT (DDG 80), and Future Operations and Readiness Officer for Destroyer Squadron 23. He also served as the Advance Echelon Team Officer-In-Charge for Pacific Partnership 2011. CDR Mahon’s last afloat assignment was as Commanding Officer of PC Crew FOXTROT, commanding USS ZEPHYR (PC 8), USS TYPHOON (PC 5), USS MONSOON (PC 4), and USS FIREBOLT (PC 10). Ashore, CDR Mahon most recently served as the Surface Strike analyst in the Power Projection Branch in the OPNAV Assessments Division (N81) and as Deputy Executive Assistant to OPNAV N8, Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Integration of Capabilities and Resources. Previously, he attended the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, receiving a Master’s of Science Degree in Operations Research.

CDR Mahon’s decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), the Battle E (three awards), and other various unit and campaign awards.
