Command Master Chief (September 2012 - January

Master Chief Petty Officer Robert E. Meyer is a native of Brunswick, Maine.  He is a 1984 graduate of Zama American High School, Camp Zama, Japan.

Master Chief Meyer entered the Navy on 5 March 1985.  Following recruit training he attended Airman Apprentice Training where he was reclassified as a Radioman and attended the Radioman Class “A” school in San Diego, California. 

His shore assignments include:  Naval Ocean Systems Center, San Diego, California, Naval Telecommunications Center, Sasebo, Japan, Commander, Military Sealift Command, San Diego, California, Defense Information Systems Agency, Pacific and Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station, Far East. 

His sea assignments include: Commander, Destroyer Squadron FIFTEEN, Yokosuka Japan, USS RUSHMORE (LSD 47), USNS NAVAJO (T-ATF 167), Commander, Amphibious Squadron ELEVEN, Sasebo Japan, and USS ESSEX (LHD 2).

Master Chief Meyer is a graduate of CMC/COB course, class 072 and is currently assigned as the Command Master Chief, USS STOCKDALE (DDG 106).

His personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (5 awards) and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 awards).
