Sterett Returns to San Diego for Repairs

SAN DIEGO – Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Sterett (DDG 104) experienced an engineering casualty and returned to San Diego to assess the casualty, Feb. 7.

The ship departed Naval Base San Diego along with Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Dewey (DDG 105) for a scheduled deployment to conduct operations in the Indo-Pacific region, Feb. 6.

The ship will rejoin Dewey at sea upon completion of repairs.

Sterett is homeported in San Diego and is part of the U.S. Naval Surface Forces and U.S. 3rd Fleet.
