|CAPT Amy McInnis
Captain Amy McInnis is a native of Corry, Pennsylvania. She attended Duquesne University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology, enlisted in the United States Navy, attended Officer Candidate School and was commissioned in February 1998.
Her enlisted tour was in USS ASHLAND (LSD 48) where she served as a Radioman Second Class Petty Officer. As a surface warfare officer, she served aboard USS PORTER (DDG 78), USS HEWITT (DD 966), USS HIGGINS (DDG 77), and commanded USS HOWARD (DDG 83). During those sea tours, she participated in a UNITAS and West Africa Training Cruise, a SEVENTHFLT deployment and three Carrier Strike Group deployments to the Persian Gulf.
Ashore, she studied at the University of San Diego, receiving a Master of Science degree in Global Leadership and at the Naval Command and Staff College, receiving a Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies. Her other assignments include Training Liaison Officer at Afloat Training Group Pacific, Protocol Officer to the Vice Chief of Naval Operations, and Integrated Air and Missile Defense Officer at U.S. THIRD FLEET. She most recently served as Senior Advisor for Maritime Strategy and Security Affairs, Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Indo-Pacific Security Affairs. Her decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal and various unit citations and campaign awards.
