Native of Philadelphia, PA, Commander Bromley is a 1998 graduate of Old Dominion University with a degree in Criminal Justice. He was commissioned in 1998, upon graduation from the Officer Candidate School, Pensacola, Florida.

His initial sea assignment was to USS GONZALEZ (DDG-66) as the Strike Officer and fleeted up to Navigator deploying to the Mediterranean Sea as part of the Standing NATO Forces. His next assignment was Weapons Officer and then Combat Systems Officer on USS LEYTE GULF (CG-55) deploying to FIFTH FLEET in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM.

Commander Bromley's shore tours include the Naval Postgraduate School, where he earned a master's degree in Information Systems. He completed an eight month individual agumention where he worked in the Counter-IED Integtation Operation Center in Bagdad, Iraq. He served as N6 at Destroyer Class Squadron and helped convert the staff back to COMNAVSURFLANT. His most recent assignment was to Carrier Strike Group Three, where he served as Assistant Surface OPS.

Commander Bromley's personal awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy Achievement Medal (four awards) as well as various campaign and unit awards.
