CDR Chad Graham
Deputy Commodore (September 2016 - September 2017)
Commander Chad Graham is native of Whittier, California. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the United States Naval Academy in May 1998 and then reported to his first sea duty tour as the Electrical Officer aboard USS McClusky (FFG 41). His next sea duty tour was in USS Zephyr (PC 8) as the Operations Officer and Executive Officer from April 2001 to December 2002. Graham then reported to the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, California, where he obtained a Master’s degree in Systems Engineering and Analysis.
After graduation, he served as the Operations Officer in USS Howard (DDG 83) from May 2005 to August 2006 and as the Operations Officer in USS Lake Champlain (CG 57) from October 2006 to April 2008. From May 2008 to June 2010, Graham was assigned to the OPNAV Staff (N86) as a Ballistic Missile Defense Requirements Officer and also served as the Executive Assistant to the Deputy Director for Surface Combat Systems and Weapons (N86F). From July 2010 until January 2013, he served on the Joint Staff as an action officer in the J-5 (Western Hemisphere) directorate.
Graham participated in the Fleet Up program, and served as the Executive Officer and then Commanding Officer in USS John S. McCain (DDG 56) from September 2013 until September 2016. He is currently serving as the Deputy Commodore for Destroyer Squadron 15, embarked aboard USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76).
Graham’s personal awards include the Joint Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal with 3 Gold Stars and the Navy Achievement Medal with 2 Gold Stars.
