GSE1 Irene Reeves was born in Zambales, Philippines, and raised in San Diego, CA. She graduated in 2005 from Castle Park High School. After completing her first year of college she enlisted in the Navy in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.
GSE1 Reeves attended Great Lakes Recruit Training followed by Builder “A” School. She reported to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion THREE and completed four deployments to Afghanistan, Iraq, Spain, Croatia, and the Horn of Africa.
December 2011, she was advanced to Petty Officer Second Class through the Command Advancement Program (CAP).
In March 2013, she qualified NEC 803R, Navy Recruiter Canvasser, and reported to Navy Recruiting District San Antonio, TX.
Upon transfer from NRD San Antonio, she attended GSE “A” school and earned the rate of GSE in 2016. In August 2016 she was awarded NEC 731B, LCAC Electrical System Maintenance Technician and reported to Camp Pendleton, CA with Assault Craft Unit FIVE as Operations Maintenance where she advanced to Petty Officer First Class in 2017.
GSE1 Reeves is Seabee Combat Warfare qualified. She earned an Associate’s degree in Math and Science, Social and Behavioral science, and Psychology from Coastline Community College. Her awards include Navy Achievement Medal (2) Good Conduct Medal (2) and several unit awards.
