2016 SOY Finalist (Shore) - PS1(SW/FMF) Jeff B. Salguero

Born in Los Angeles, California, in April 1981, Personnel Specialist First Class Jeff B. Salguero graduated from Littlerock High School, Littlerock, California, and enlisted in the Navy in August 2001.

He attended recruit Basic Training at Recruit Training Center, Great Lakes, Illinois, and attended disbursing clerk “A” school at Naval Training Center, Meridian, Mississippi.

His first assignment was to Everett, Washington aboard the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72). Salguero then reported to Personnel Support Detachment, North Island, California, in November 2005. His next assignment was with 1st Marine Special Operations Command (MSOB) at Camp Pendleton, California, where he earned his Fleet Marine Force qualification.

Salguero is currently serving on the staff of Commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, in San Diego, California.

Salguero’s personal awards include the Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, Good conduct Medal, and various personal, unit and campaign awards.
