MNCS  Hugh Mitchell
Senior Enlisted Leader

Senior Chief Petty Officer Mitchell is currently serving as the Senior Enlisted Advisor for Commander, Mine Countermeasures Squadron SEVEN located in Sasebo, Japan.

MNCS Mitchell is a native of Lynchburg, Virginia. He graduated from Clearview Christian High School in Lynchburg, Virginia in June 2000. He attended University of Phoenix College, majoring in Business and Management and earning a Master's of Business Administration Degree. MNCS Mitchell entered Naval service on 3 February 2003, graduated from RTC Great Lakes in May of 2003. Upon completion of MN “A” school and Minesweep “C” school in August of 2003, he reported aboard his first sea command in September 2003.

He has served in several sea duty assignments, including USS GLADIATOR (MCM-11), MCM CREW CONSTANT, USS DEFENDER (MCM-2) and COMCMRON SEVEN in Sasebo, Japan.

His shore assignments include MOMAU ELEVEN in Charleston, South Carolina; CNAVPERSCOM in Millington, Tennessee.

He has been awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards) and various other personal and unit awards.
