Lieutenant Commander Bill Golden is a native of New Jersey and a 2008 graduate of the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. He earned his Master of Science degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia in 2014.
His division officer tours were aboard USS LAKE CHAMPLAIN (CG 57) as the Electrical Officer and Training Officer, and aboard USS INDEPENDENCE (LCS 2) as the Weapons Officer and Navigator. As a department head he served as the Chief Engineer aboard USS MITSCHER (DDG 57). Most recently, he was the Executive Officer aboard USS ARDENT (MCM 12).
Ashore Lieutenant Commander Golden served as an Instructor of Naval Science at the University of Virginia’s NROTC Unit.  Lieutenant Commander Golden took command of USS GLADIATOR in February 2020.
