Click for high resolutionCDR Bopp received his commission from Savannah State College NROTC in 1994 where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics with a minor in Naval Science.

As a Surface Warfare Officer, he served as 2nd Division Officer aboard USS GUNSTON HALL (LSD-44), Assistant First Lieutenant aboard USS HARRY S. TRUMAN (CVN-75), Training Liaison Officer at Afloat Training Group Mayport, and as the Schedules and Operations Officer at Fleet Area Control and Surveillance Facility in Jacksonville, Fl.

In 2002, CDR Bopp attended the Surface Warfare Department Head Course prior to his assignment to USS KLAKRING (FFG-42) as the Combat Systems Officer, and later as the Operations Officer aboard USS TRENTON (LPD-14). In 2007, he attended the Prospective Executive Officer Course and Senior Leadership Course in Newport, Rhode Island.
 
He then reported to Naval Coastal Warfare Squadron (NCWS) Four as the Executive Officer. During his tenure, NCWS Four reorganized to Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron Four and deployed to 5th Fleet. Following a successful Executive Officer tour, CDR Bopp transferred to Commander, Naval Forces Korea where he served as Current Operations Officer and Republic of Korea Navy Fleet Liaison Officer. In June 2011, he reported to Special Operations Command South (SOCSOUTH) and served as Exercise Planner and SOCSOUTH Liaison Officer to U.S. Southern Command. CDR Bopp subsequently reported to Marine Air-Ground Task Force Staff Training Program as the lead amphibious instructor and in July 2017 to United States Forces Korea as United Nation Command/Combined Forces Command/U.S.Forces Korea Future Operations Planner.
 
CDR Bopp reported to Commander, Littoral Combat Ship Squadron TWO, Mayport FL in September 2019 and is currently serving as Chief Staff Officer.
 
His personal awards include Defense Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Joint Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (six awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), Army Achievement Medal, and various decorations and awards.
