CMDCM(SW/AW/IW/EXW) David W. SandeenCommand Master Chief
Master Chief David W. Sandeen is currently serving as Command Master Chief USS BAINBRIDGE (DDG 96), he is a native of Iowa, where he enlisted in the U. S. Navy in June of 1986. After completing Recruit Training in Great lakes, Illinois, he reported to Data Processing “A” School in San Diego, California followed by Naval intelligence Processing Systems Training Facility in Key West, Florida. His first duty station was USS FORRESTAL (CV 59) homeported in Mayport, Florida.
Master Chief Sandeen completed his active duty enlistment at Naval Security Group Activity (NSGA), Charleston, South Carolina in 1991. He served in various reserve units in Iowa and Wisconsin until his return to active duty in May of 2000 where he reported to USS Nassau (LHA 4) as an Information System Technician.
Master Chief Sandeen’s other assignments include Navy and Marine Corps Internet (NMCI), Norfolk, Virginia; Command Standing Navy Combat Element where he deployed to Combined Joint Task Force, Horn of Africa; Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) Detachment Pacific Command, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; USS CHUNG-HOON (DDG 93), Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) Norfolk, Virginia.
His academic accomplishments include Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education Course, Graduate of the United States Air Force Senior Non-commissioned Officer Academy 2012 (Class 12-D), and Chief of the Boat/Command Master Chief Course Class (188).
Master Chief Sandeen’s military decorations include the Joint Defense Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
