Commander Richard Grant
Executive Officer

Bio ImageCDR Grant was born in Jamaica and raised in Florida. He enlisted in the Navy in 1992 and was commissioned through the Enlisted Commissioning Program in 2002. He graduated from the University of North Florida with BA in Political Science.

His afloat tours were in USS KLAKRING (FFG 42) as Force Protection and Fire Control Officer; USS GETTYSBURG (CG 64) as Damage Control Assistant; USS BOONE (FFG 28) as Engineer Officer and USS BATAAN (LHD 5) as the Training Officer. Throughout these tours he deployed to EUCOM AOR, conducted Standing Naval Forces Atlantic (SNFL) deployment and SOUTHCOM OAR, conducted various Counter Illicit Trafficking and a UNITAS LANT/PAC deployments. 
His tours ashore include Training Liaison Officer at Afloat Training Group (ATG) Mayport, Florida; Commander Naval Surface Forces Atlantic (CNSL) as the Aegis Ashore Missile Defense System (AAMDS) lead for the Navy’s first land based missile defense capability and SECEF Orders Writer and Sea Power Joint Working Group Lead on the Joint Staff, Director for Operations (DJ3), Deputy Directorate for Regional Operations (DDRO/J35).
CDR Grant holds a Master of Business Administration from Webster University.
His decorations and awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (three awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards), and various unit awards and citations.
