CMDCM(SW/SCW/EXW/IW) Juan M. Navarro Jr.
Command Master Chief

Command Master Chief Juan Navarro was born in Florida, and graduated in May 1995.  He holds an Associate in Arts, Construction Technology at Coastline Community College.  He is a graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 189 Blue), and Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat course (Class 179).  Command Master Chief Navarro attended Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, IL, in October 1998.  Upon completion of “Boot Camp,” he attended Seaman Apprentice School at Naval Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, IL, he graduated in December 1998.  

 
In January 1999, his first tour of duty was with USS JOHN L. HALL (FFG 32) Pascagoula, MS.  He deployed on NORTHCOM deployments in support of Standing Naval Force Atlantic (SNFL).  His duties were Deck Seaman.  
 
In September 2000, he attended CE “A” School at Naval Construction Training Center (NCTC), Detachment Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, TX, he graduated in January 2001.   
 
In March 2001, he transferred to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) ONE, Gulfport, MS.  He deployed on two PACOM deployments in support of CINPACFLT.  His duties were Crew leader and Crew member. 
 
In March 2003, he transferred to Naval Recruiting District Houston, Houston, TX.  His duties were Recruiter in Charge, LPO and Canvasser Recruiter.  
 
In June 2007, he transferred to NMCB 74, Gulfport, MS.  He deployed on two CENTCOM deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.  His duties were Detachment Operations Chief, Platoon Commander, Platoon Chief, EMBARK LPO and QC Inspector. 
 
In August 2010, he transferred to NCTC, Gulfport, MS.   He deployed on a year IA to AFRICOM deployment in support of CJTF-HOA.  His duties were Department LCPO, Construction Manager and Course Manager. 
 
In August 2013, he transferred to Navy Special Warfare Group Two Logistic Support, Virginia Beach, VA.  He deployed to AFRICOM in support of CJTF-HOA.  His duties were CSSD LCPO, ST4 CSST SEL and Senior Enlisted Advisor.
 
In January 2017, he transferred to NMCB ONE, Gulfport, MS.  He deployed to PACOM in support of MCO Phase II Fleet readiness in Guam and PACOM theater.  His duties were PACOM Operation Chief and Battalion Training Chief.
 
In December 2017, Command Master Chief Navarro reported to his present assignment as Command Master Chief of USS WINSTON S. CHURCHILL (DDG-81).
 
His awards include the Joint Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (3), Army Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal and various other awards.   He is married and is the proud father of three children.
