The mission of Amphibious Squadron Six (PHIBRON SIX) is to prepare plans, support embarked amphibious forces, conduct rehearsals, render humanitarian assistance/ disaster relief, and perform assaults upon hostile shores in support of national policy.
PHIBRON SIX, in partnership with the Amphibious Ready Group and the Marine Expeditionary Unit, has the capability to land personnel and equipment as well as provide support through fixed and rotary wing attack aircraft. Moreover, our secondary missions include: performing maritime security operations, rescuing distressed mariners, supporting non-combatant evacuation operations, and performing power projection to reassure allies and deter adversaries.
In fulfilling these vital missions PHIBRON SIX contributes to America's policy of maintaining peace and preserving freedom worldwide by maintaining a ready presence in areas of vital interest to the security of the United States and our allies.
PHIBRON SIX's goal for the past four decades has been to go "To the Beach and Beyond." We are honored to continue that tradition.
