Senior Chief Operations Specialist Ranona L. Robinson is a native of Texas. She enlisted in the United States Navy in July 1999. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, attended Seaman Apprentice Training in Great Lakes, IL.
Her initial tour of duty was on USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75), Norfolk, VA, as an undesignated seaman she struck Operations Specialist (OS) and served as Combat Direction Center Track Supervisor completing two Eastern Mediterranean deployments.
In 2008, she reported COMDESRON 15, Yokosuka, Japan where she served as Staff Watch Officer onboard USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) and USS George Washington (CVN 73). In March 2010, she transferred to USS Lassen (DDG 82), where she served as an Anti-Submarine Tactical Air Controller (ASTAC) and OI Division Leading Petty Officer.
In March 2012, she transferred to Fleet ASW Training Center, San Diego, CA as an ASTAC and Global Command Control System-Maritime (GCCS-M) instructor and was promoted to Chief Petty Officer.
In August 2015, she reported to Afloat Training Group Norfolk, VA, as Afloat Training Assessor for Maintenance and Material Management Systems (3M). She is currently serving as Senior Enlisted Advisor at COMDESRON TWO SIX embarked onboard the USS Dwight D Eisenhower (CVN 69) attached to Command, Carrier Strike Group TEN (CCSG 10).
Senior Chief Robinson is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy Class 210 (ORANGE). She has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration-Finance from Columbia University.
Her personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (six awards), and numerous campaign medals.
