Pearl Harbor is a large base with excellent exchange and uniform facilities. Honolulu has the advantage of boasting an International Airport with all amenities (Including a large selection of car rental companies). A host of ATMs from most banks as well as Check cashing facilities are available. On base parking is plentiful. Vehicle registration is required. Base access with a Rental Car requires Rental Agreement and matching CAC identification. Students are reminded that they may only park in designated areas. Driving a motorcycle onboard a Naval facility requires the proper attire and successful completion of a DOD Motorcycle Safety Course. Qualified motorcyclists will comply with OPNAVINST 5100.12 series. Honolulu is a high cost area year-around. Hotels, motels and off-base housing is expensive. Students should make reservations at the Navy Gateway Inns and Suites (NGIS) prior to their arrival.
