Facilities Energy Management Course

Course Description:
The purpose of this course is to train facilities managers as trained energy managers as required and defined by the Energy Policy Act (Public Law 102-486). This law defines a trained energy manager as a person who has demonstrated proficiency or has completed a course of study in the areas of fundamentals of building energy systems, building energy codes and applicable professional standards, energy accounting and analysis, life-cycle cost analysis, fuel supply and pricing, and instrumentation for energy surveys and audits.
Personnel Eligible:
Officers: 0-1 to 0-6;
Civilians: GS-05 to GS-13.

Please contact the course director to request a waiver of pre-requisite requirements. Waivers will be considered on a case-by-case basis and will only be approved under extenuating circumstances.
