The Navy Senior Leader Seminar (NSLS) provides senior officers (CAPT/O6), senior civilians (GS-15 and equivalent only), and Fleet/Force Command Master Chiefs with an intensive eight and a half day executive education program that introduces the latest "best practices" in strategic planning, goal setting, strategic communication, effects-based thinking, risk management, financial management, innovation and leadership practices. The program is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and abilities to more effectively manage and lead in complex organizations. Learning is enhanced by the use of case studies, small-team exercises, practical applications, seminar-style discussions, and peer-learning among particitants. The NSLS empowers senior leadership to become more effective change agents and resource managers. This course is specialically designed for Active duty and Reserve senior officers who have been selected for Captain, high potential Commanders, GS-15 and equivalent civilians, and Fleet/Force Command master Chiefs. Length of course is 9 days, 4.5 days in class the 1st week (Tue-Sat) and 3.5 days the 2nd week (Mon-Thu). Note we have 7 full days of physical in class time averaging 8.0 to 8.5 hours a day (plus 4 additional 30-minute mandatory athletic workout sessions in the early morning), plus 2 additional half-days on Saturday monring (4.5 Hrs) and on the last day of class for our Grous Project Reports (3.25 Hrs).
