Goodfellow AFB, TX! I extend a warm welcome aboard from the Navy Community here at Goodfellow. Our Command mission
is to provide various cryptologic and fire fighting joint training to Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines. Abundant
opportunities for professional and personal growth will make this one of your most rewarding and challenging
assignments. Located in the southwestern part of Texas, San Angelo has a wealth of history and historical sites.
The city of San Antonio is located three and a half hours South of San Angelo. You will have many opportunities to
visit and enjoy the Alamo, Fiesta Texas, Slitterbaughn and Sea World located in San Antonio or visit the zoo and shop
in Abilene. There is a small local mall and AAFES Base Exchange, Commissary, Bank, credit unions, post office,
chapels and many other facilities. Whatever your interest, crafts, sports, or movies, all are available here.
a. Checking in:
You will be required to check in with the Angelo Inn if staying in TLF. You are required to check in with original orders to the Navy Detachment located in building 420, MON-FRI, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Cryptologic instructors are required to complete a polygraph examination prior to detaching from your present command. Polygraphs are not available at this site. If unable to obtain polygraph prior to arrival contact this command upon notification of this message. If your SSBI date is greater than 4.5 years old, ensure a PR is submitted to your servicing SSO as soon as possible. Members reporting to the command with an expired SSBI or without a polygraph will delay ability to begin instructor duty, or in some cases prevent member from fulfilling duties altogether.
