MASTER CHIEF DAMAGE CONTROLMAN

MICHAEL J. ASHTON
UNITED STATES NAVY
Master Chief Petty Officer Ashton is a native St. Augustine Florida
and enlisted in the Navy in 1993, and attended Basic Training in
Great Lakes, Illinois.
His sea-duty assignments include: USS JOHN C. STENNIS (CVN- 74)
home ported in Bremerton Washington, USS Carney (DDG-64) home ported
in Mayport Florida, USS HARLAN COUNTY (LST -1196), USS DONALD COOK
(DDG-75), USS MESA VERDE (LPD-19)and USS PONCE (LPD-15) where he
served a Command Senior Chief, home ported in Norfolk Virginia.
His shore duty assignments include: Naval Recruiting District
Nashville and Center for Naval Engineering Learning Site Pearl
Harbor and Afloat Training Group Mayport where he served as Damage
Control Warfare lead and Command Master Chief.
Master Chief Ashton is a veteran of six overseas deployments;
including participation in, OPERATION SOUTHERN WATCH, OPERATION
ENDURING FREEDOM, OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM, and OPERATION NOBLE
His personal awards include the Six Navy Commendation Medals, Joint
Service Achievement Medal and Five Navy Achievement Medals and
numerous other personal and campaign awards.
He completed Recruit Division Commander “C” School and reported to
Officer Training Command Newport in 2017.
