CAPT Andrew Corey
NCTS Naples Commanding Officer


CAPT Andrew Corey was most recently the Commanding Officer of the Joint Targets Squadron, JSOC Intelligence Brigade located at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, from August 2015 to September 2017.  The Joint Targets Squadron Wolfpack was responsible for deploying information warfare capabilities and personnel to five Joint Task Forces across three geographic combatant commands.  He was commissioned as a Special Duty Intelligence Ensign in June 1994, and has been a career Intelligence Officer for his 23 years of active-duty military service.

CAPT Corey’s operational/sea tours include Director of Intelligence (N2) at Naval Special Warfare Development Group in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where he deployed four times as Intelligence Director (J2) for a Joint Task Force conducting counterterrorism operations.  He also served operational tours with U.S. SIXTH Fleet in both Naples, Italy and Lisbon, Portugal; SEAL Team THREE in Coronado, California that included three deployments to the U.S. Central Command Area of Responsibility; and USS BLUE RIDGE (LCC-19) and U.S. SEVENTH Fleet in Yokosuka, Japan that included five Western Pacific deployments.
CAPT Corey’s staff/shore tours include the Central Intelligence Agency in Langley, Virginia where he was the Military Representative to the Counter Proliferation Center; U.S. Fleet Forces Command in Norfolk, Virginia; two tours with U.S. Naval Forces Central in Bahrain where he was an Intelligence Watch Officer during the opening months of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM; and U.S. European Command special duty in Mons, Belgium.
CAPT Corey holds a B.S. in Economics from Santa Clara University.  He earned a M.A. in National Security and Strategic Studies from the United States Naval War College, where he graduated with highest distinction.
His military awards include the Rear Admiral Edwin T. Layton Award for Intelligence Leadership, the Naval Intelligence Junior Officer of the Year, four Defense Meritorious Service Medals, three Meritorious Service Medals, and various individual, campaign and unity awards.
A native of Boston, Massachusetts, CAPT Corey grew up predominantly in Lake Oswego, Oregon.
