CDR Frederick L. Crawford
Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station, Guam
Commander Crawford currently has more than 28 years of dedicated and faithful military service.
He is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1990. After completion of recruit training at Great Lakes, Illinois, he attended EM "A" School and graduated at the top of his class.
His first tour of duty was onboard the USS Puget Sound (AD-38) where he made several deployments in support of Operation Desert Shield. His next assignment was as the Leading Petty Officer with the 1st LT Department, Headquarters Support Activity (HSA), co-located at the Commander Naval Atlantic Fleet Compound.
During this tour, he was selected as the Senior Sailor of the Year and shortly after selected for the Enlisted Commissioning Program (ECP). He attended Officer's Candidate training in Rhode Island at the Naval Science Institute (NSI) and reported to Naval Recruit Training Command Hampton Roads, Bravo Company apart of the Hampton Roads Consortium.
His academic awards included the President's and Dean's List, the Beta Gamma Sigma National Honors Society, and graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors.
After completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Management of Information Systems, he earned his commission and attended Surface Warfare/ Division Officers' School (SWOS/DOC) in Rhode Island.
Upon being commissioned, he reported to the USS Bulkeley (DDG-84), where he served as both the Auxiliaries Officer (AUXO) and Electrical Officer (ELECTRO). While onboard, he completed a six-month maiden deployment in support of Iraqi Enduring Freedom and earned his Surface Warfare Officer pin.
Following his tour onboard the USS Bulkeley, he reported to the USS Enterprise (CVN-65) where he served as the System Test Officer (STO) and the Fire Control Officer (FCO). While onboard he lateraled into the Information Professional community and attended the Naval Post-Graduate School (NPS) in Monterey, CA.
From June 2006 to June 2008, he earned a Master's of Science in Technology under the curriculum of Joint Command, Control, Communication, Computers and Intelligence (JC4I). His operational tours afloat are comprised of Assistant, C5I Officer, onboard the USS Bonhomme Richard, and the C5I Officer on the USS Blue Ridge LCC-19, Seventh Fleet Command Ship.
He recently took command on May 22, 2019 at the U.S. Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station, Guam.
