Lieutenant Commander Christopher Mullen graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Technology Education and received his commission May 2005 through the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps. While assigned to Training Wing FOUR, LCDR Mullen redesigned to an Information Professional.
In 2007, LCDR Mullen transferred to the USS Nashville (LPD 13) as the Communications Officer where he qualified as a Surface Warfare Officer. Deploying once to the Mediterranean and once to the West Coast of Africa in support of Africa Partnership Station. In 2009, LCDR Mullen then transferred to Maritime Expeditionary Security Group TWO as the Communications Department Head and qualified as an Information Warfare Officer. In 2012, he attended the Naval Postgraduate School where he completed his Masters of Science in Cyber Systems and Operations and received a Naval War College Command and Staff diploma.
In 2013, LCDR Mullen transferred to the Defense Information System Agency Joint Staff Support Center as the Chief, Operations Management Branch where he was named Joint Staff Support Center’s Company Grade Officer of the Year. In 2015, LCDR Mullen transferred to Office of the Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV) to serve as a Special Assistant working on the CNO Strategic Actions Group (N00Z) and Director, OPNAV Command Information Officer (DNS-4).
Currently, LCDR Mullen is the Officer in Charge of Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Pacific Detachment Puget Sound.
LCDR Mullen’s personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2 awards), and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
