Captain Harold Cole
Captain Cole is a native of Enterprise, Alabama and a graduate of Auburn University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in History and commission in June 1996, via the Auburn University NROTC program. Following graduation, he reported to Pensacola, Florida in July 1996, where he completed Cryptologic Officer training at naval Technical Training Center, Corry Station. His first assignment in the community was fleet support division officer at Naval Security Group Activity, Pensacola, from 1997 to 2001, where he was responsible for conducting computer network operations for Navy fleet and shore commands.
Additional assignments included Computer Network Vulnerability Analyst in the Information Assurance Directorate of the National Security Agency, and department head in Naval Security Group Activity, Fort Meade, Maryland, from 2001 to 2005. In 2005, Captain Cole transferred to USS ENTERPRISE (CVN-65), Norfolk, Virginia, where he served as the ship's Information Warfare Officer and OS Division Officer. He completed one deployment with the "BIG E" in 2006, to the 6th, 5th, and 7th Fleet areas of responsibility. Captain Cole transferred to Navy Information Operations Command Georgia in 2007, where he served as the Joint Operatons Department Head and Tailored Access Operations Military Deputy, leading Sailors working in NSA/CSS Georgia.
His senior leadership and staff assignments include duty on the Chief of Naval Operations Staff (OPNAV) in the Electronic and Cyber Warfare Division (N2N6F3), as Assistant Branch Chief for the Cyber Warfare Branch, Pentagon, Washingon, D.C.; Deputy Information Warfare Commander/N39 for Carrier Strike Group ELEVEN, Everett, Washington, where he deployed onboard USS NIMITZ (CVN-68) to the U.S. Pacific and Central Command areas of responsibility; as Executive Officer of Navy Information Operations Command Georgia; and as Executive Assistant to the Commander, U.S. Fleet Cyber Command/U.S. TENTH Fleet, Fort Meade, Maryland and most recently as the Assistant Chief of Staff for Readiness at Naval Information Forces, Suffolk, Virginia. Captain Cole currently serves as Command Officer, Navy Cyber Defense Operations Command and Commander, Task Force 1020.
Captain Cole's decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Meritorious Service Medal (four awards), Navy Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy Achievement Medal and various service and campaign awards. He has earned Masters Degrees in Information Assurance from Capitol College, and Strategic Studies from the United States Air Force War College.
Commander Scott L. Cone
Commander Scott L. Cone, a native of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, began his military career by enlisting in the U.S. Navy in July 1988. As an enlisted Cryptologic Technician (Interpretive), he distinguished himself in a wide array of assignments with the Naval Security Group and National Security Agency, including duties as an Operations Watch Supervisor, Senior Analyst/Reporter, Subsurface/Airborne Operator and Mission Supervisor, Foreign Language Instructor, and Technical Curriculum Developer/Supervisor. His extensive tactical cryptologic background provided him with a solid professional foundation, and led to his qualification in Submarines (USS BILLFISH), as a Naval Aircrewman (ES-3A SHADOW and EP-3E ARIES II reconnaissance aircraft), and ultimate selection to Chief Petty Officer in 1998.
Following graduation from Officer Candidate School, Pensacola, Florida, in 2000, he was commissioned an Ensign (Special Duty-Cryptology, subsequently re-designated Cryptologic Warfare). He has successfully completed both service and Joint assignments as a Direct Support Element Officer in support of CNO-directed special operations, Senior Watch Officer and Chief of Enterprise Engineering at the Aerospace Data Facility (Buckley AFB, Colorado), Mission Director and Deputy Division Chief at the Joint Defense Facility Pine Gap (JDFPG), Officer-in-Charge of U.S. Navy Information Operations Detachment Alice Springs, Australia, Flag Cryptologist for Commander, Carrier Strike Group ELEVEN (USS NIMITZ), Officer in Charge, U.S. Navy Information Operations Detachment Digby, United Kingdom, and as a Branch Chief and Joint Military Planner for Cyberspace and Information Operations at the National Security Agency.
Cone was previously assigned to Commander Naval Forces-Europe, Commander Naval Forces-Africa, Commander SIXTH Fleet (CNE-CNA-C6F) from September 2016 to July 2018, where he served as Director N39 (Information Operations and Special Activities).
Commander Cone currently performs duties as Executive Officer, Navy Cyber Defense Operations Command (NCDOC) since August 2018.
Cone's awards and decorations include: Defense Meritorious Service Medal (three awards), Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), as well as various personal, unit, and campaign medals. He is entitled to wear the Information Dominance Warfare device, is designated a Joint Qualified Officer, and holds Masters Degrees in both Public Administration (Bowie State University) and Systems Engineering (Naval Postgraduate School).
ITCS (IW/SW/EXW) Kassidy Gordon
Senior Enlisted Leader
Senior Chief Gordon enlisted in 2005 from Arlington, Indiana. She attended recruit training and completed Information System Technician "A" School in Great Lakes, Illinois.
Her tours include USNS Niagara Falls (T-AFS 3), Guam; USS Mount Whitney (LCC 20), Gaeta, Italy; NCTS Naples, Italy; Navy Marine Corp Internet Detachment, Norfolk, Virginia; Combined Joint Task Force Horn of Africa, Djibouti; USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19); and Navy Cyber Defense Operations Command (NCDOC), Suffolk, Virginia. She has deployed across multiple Western Pacific and Atlantic deployments as well as deployments throughout the Mediterranean Sea and Black Sea.
ITCS (IW/SW/EXW) Gordon has served at NCDOC since 2015 in the Operations, Training, Defense Cyber Operations Deployer, and Cybersecurity Departments, and currently serves as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader.
Senior Chief Gordon's personal awards include the Joint Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy Achievement Medal (six awards), and various unit and personal awards. She has earned her Master's Degree in Cybersecurity Policy and Management from University of Maryland University College, and a proud wife and mother of four children.
