LCDR Christopher David Weddell
A native of Milton, FL, Lieutenant Commander Weddell enlisted in the United States Navy in August 1995. Upon completion of Boot Camp, he attended follow on training via the AEGIS Fire Controlman training pipeline. In March 2008, he commissioned through the Limited Duty Officer program and went on to redesignate as an Information Professional in October 2015. LCDR Weddell holds an Associate’s Degree from Central Texas College, a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Illinois University, and a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the United States Naval War College.
LCDR Weddell’s enlisted afloat tours include AEGIS Display Work Center Supervisor onboard USS ARLEIGH BURKE (DDG 51), Aegis Computer and Display Work Center Supervisor onboard USS MITSCHER (DDG 57), and AEGIS Weapons Supervisor and Leading Petty Officer onboard USS CARNEY (DDG 64). As an Officer, his afloat responsibilities include assignment as the Systems Test Officer onboard USS VICKSBURG (CG 69), the Maintenance and Material Management (3M) Officer onboard PCU GERALD R. FORD (CVN 78), and most recently the Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff for C5I at Expeditionary Strike Group TWO. During his afloat tours, he has deployed in 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 6th Fleet Areas of Operation, supporting numerous multi-national exercises and fleet operations.
Ashore, LCDR Weddell served as an AEGIS Computer and Display “C” School Instructor at AEGIS Training and Readiness Center in Dahlgren, Virginia, and the Executive Officer at Navy Munitions Command Unit Charleston from October 2011 to March 2014.
His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various campaign and service medals.
