CAPT William A. Daniels, USN
CAPT Daniels was raised in Woodbridge, New Jersey, and graduated from New Jersey City University in 1994. He received his
commission through Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, FL in 1997. CAPT Daniels reported to Cryptologic Warfare Group SIX
as Executive Officer in June 2017.
CAPT Daniels initially served as a Surface Warfare Officer, and his operational assignments included duty as Communications Officer, USS PORT ROYAL (CG 73); and Assistant Operations and Training Officer, USS GARY (FFG 51). Following his transfer to the Cryptologic Warfare community he served afloat as Cryptologic Direct Support Officer on various platforms, and Cryptologic Resource Coordinator/Flag Cryptologist, Carrier Strike Group THREE (CCSG-3, JOHN C. STENNIS Strike Group).
While ashore he served as Chief of the Counterterrorism Division and Deputy Chief for Special Intelligence Networks, NSA Hawaii; Deputy Chief for Current Intelligence and Collection Operations Divisions, Commander U.S. Pacific Fleet; Cyber Operations Branch Chief, Non-Kinetic Operations Division, U.S. Strategic Command; and most recently, the Current Operations Officer, Fleet Cyber Command/Commander TENTH Fleet.
CAPT Daniels is a Cryptologic Warfare Officer, a qualified Information Warfare Community Officer, and a qualified Surface Warfare Officer. He is a graduate of the Naval Postgraduate School (National Security Affairs–East Asia), the Naval War College Command and Staff Program, and the Joint Forces Staff College Joint and Combined Warfighting School.
Personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and various unit citations and awards.
