CDR Tori Murphy, USN
A native of Thomasville, Georgia, Commander Murphy graduated from Norfolk State University 2001, receiving his commission through the Enlisted Commissioning Program. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the Naval Postgraduate School 2008. Commander Murphy began his naval career in June 1991 when he reported to Naval Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, IL.
His shore assignments include Ship Intermediate Maintenance Availability, Norfolk, VA; Leading Petty officer Headquarter Support Activity Atlantic Fleet; Division Officer Subsurface Cryptologic Technician Technical Division Naval Security Group Activity Norfolk; Division Officer Tactical Cryptologic Support Naval Special Warfare Group TWO; Operations Department Head Navy Information Operation Command Yokosuka, Japan; Officer in Charge Navy Information Operations Detachment Alice Springs, Australia; Department Head of Information Warfare Readiness, Policy & Requirements on Commander U.S. Fleet Forces Staff.
Fleet assignments include Assistant Leading Petty Officer USS CARON (DD 970); Direct Support Division Officer USS COLE (DDG 67) where he deployed to the Mediterranean Sea in support of Operation Active Endeavor; Direct Support Division Officer USS GONZALEZ (DDG 66); Division Officer Ship Signal Exploitation System Division USS MUSTIN (DDG 89) where he deployed as part of SEVENTH Fleet Forwarded Deployed Naval Forces qualifying Tactical Action Officer (TAO); Cryptologic Resource Coordinator Commander SEVENTH Fleet; Deputy Information Warfare Commander on Commander Carrier Strike Group FIVE Staff.
In September 2019 Commander Murphy reported as the Executive Officer of Cryptologic Warfare Group SIX.
