Commander Asche is a native of Half Moon Bay, CA where he graduated from Half
Moon Bay High School in 2001. Following
a semester at Northwestern Preparatory School and College of San Mateo, he
entered the Navy in June of 2002 when he enrolled at The United States Naval
Academy (USNA) and was commissioned in May of 2006.
Commander Asche’s tours include Communications Detachment OIC and Assistant
Operations Officer, Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron 5; ADP Officer, USS
Frank Cable (AS 40); and Assistant Battle Captain and Defensive Cyber
Operations Boundary Division Officer in Charge, Defense Information Systems
Agency (DISA). He is currently serving as the Executive Officer of Naval
Communications Security Material System (NCMS).
Commander Asche is a qualified Information Warfare Officer and Surface Warfare Officer.
He earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in Computer Science from USNA and his
Masters of Science Degree in Computer Science and a Secure Communications
Certificate from the Naval Postgraduate School. His professional certifications
include Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified
Ethical Hacker (CEH), Security Plus, Network Plus, and Information Technology
Infrastructure Library (ITIL). His personal decorations include the Defense
Meritorious Service Medal, Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and the
Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
