Maritime Security Operations
Provide maritime forces to Joint Interagency Task Force South in support of Campaign MARTILLO.
Security Cooperation Activities
Conduct multinational maritime exercises with partner nations such as UNITAS, PANAMAX, and Teamwork South.
Contingency Operations
Rapidly respond to manmade and natural crises and support foreign humanitarian assistance and disaster relief.
Counter Illicit Trafficking (CIT)
In partnership with the U.S. Coast Guard, USNAVSO/FOURTHFLT supports joint, interagency and multinational interdictions from the sea and air by providing direct support to the CIT effort.
Southern Partnership Station
Southern Partnership Station is an annual series of U.S. Navy deployments focused on subject matter expert exchanges with partner nation militaries and security forces in the area of operations.
Continuing Promise
Continuing Promise enables the collaboration between U.S. Military and government personnel, partner nations and non-governmental organizations to conduct civil-military operations to include humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, subject matter expert exchanges and medical, dental, and veterinary support.
UNITAS, which is Latin for "unity," is an annual exercise conceived in 1959 and first executed in 1960. UNITAS demonstrates U.S. commitment to the region and the value of the strong relationships forged with our partners.
Since its conception in 2003, PANAMAX has become one of the largest multinational training exercises in the world. The exercise focus is on ensuring the defense of the Panama Canal, which is one of the most strategically and economically crucial pieces of infrastructure in the world.
