The fall FY-21 FTS Transfer/Redesignation Board (#35) adjourned and the results are posted to the right. Congratulations to those selected and we look forward to working with you! For those that did not select, thank you for applying. The spring FTS board is tentatively scheduled for April 2021.
As a reminder, all Board Members, AC OCMs, FTS OCMs, Detailers, etc… are prohibited from discussing any specifics about the applicants, pre-board process, or board proceedings.
Selectees can expect a letter within the next week to accept or decline their selection. You will have exactly 10 calendar days to return that letter to PERS-92. Failure to return the letter within 10 days will constitute declination of the opportunity. No extensions will be granted. If you decline, it is final. Conversion to FTS is contingent upon meeting all eligibility criteria and processing requirements.
Once all acceptance letters are received, your FTS detailer will contact you (please allow up to four weeks). They will work with you and your current detailer on your next assignment timing.
One common question that is asked is if a selectee can switch communities. The selectee was chosen by the board for that specific community for a number of reasons. Switching communities (to include switching AVN communities) after the board is not permitted.
A. Conversion process:
1. Active Component officers (i.e., XXX0 designator): Once you accept your selection, we will determine the best time for you to redesignate to FTS/Reserves based on needs of the Navy/PRD/promotion status/etc. You will be issued a new oath into the Navy Reserve within 3 - 12 months. Of note, the changing of your designator can occur before or after you have new orders to your first FTS position (the two processes are exclusive of each other).
2. Selective Reservists (i.e., XXX5 designator): You are already in the Navy Reserve, so checking in to your new duty station will change your designator to XXX7. Your FTS detailer will contact you to discuss your individual timing.
Again, for those that were not selected, thank you for applying. There are a number of reasons why an applicant may not have been selected, however, as a reminder we are prohibited from discussing those details.
