Earned your Warfare Pin...Congratulations! Now, ensure we have your warfare designation on record. Forward a copy of your warfare designation letter or certificate to myself or the Career Counselor via email, or fax to the following number 901-882-2684 or DSN 882-2684.
Promotion Flow Points. DOPMA states that officers should be given the opportunity to promote to LCDR at the 10 year mark, give or take a year (i.e. between your 9th year of commissioned service and before the 11th year of your commissioned service); to CDR at the 16 year mark, again plus or minus one year; and to CAPT at the 22nd year of commissioned service, again plus or minus one year.
Flow points are computed as a promotion zone GROUP average, not necessarily at an individual career point. This is why it is possible for an individual person to actually stripe up under or over these points. Again if you have questions please feel free to contact me.
Exceptional Family Member (EFM) Folks. The primary goal of the EFM Program is to assist service members in providing for the special needs of their EFM before, during and after relocation required by change of duty assignments. If anyone in your family is enrolled in the EFM Program please ensure the data has been updated. This is a yearly requirement. This can and does cause additional delays in your order writing process. Please, take the time for you and your family to keep the information current.
Detailing Window. As a reminder the detailing window is eight (8) months for folks homeported or stationed in CONUS and ten (10) months for folks stationed outside CONUS. This being said, feel free to let me know your desires and goals at any time, we just won’t be able to close the loop on detailing negotiations until you are inside your detailing window.
Don’t forget we detail to LDO and CWO billets first. If your timing works out that there are no LDO/CWO billets available then we can talk about “potential” 3100 billets in the area of your choice. Please don’t confuse “no LDO/CWO billets available” with “there are no billets I desire.” As an LDO/CWO you will be detailed to an LDO/CWO billet.
Nominative billets include Blue Angels and Naval Academy billets. In order to be considered for one of these positions, you will need to submit a complete application package to me via email. One PDF file is preferred. Your package will include the following:
NOTE: REMOVE ALL PII/SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS FROM ALL DOCUMENTS PRIOR TO SUBMISSION.
1. Letter(s) of Recommendation (preferably an O6 Supply Corps Officer)
2. List of 3-4 references (not letters of reference, just a list of names with contact information)
3. Current Bio
4. Personal Statement (expressing your desire/fit for position)
5. Color full length photo (official photo will suffice)
6. Contact information (PLAD, official address, work and home numbers, and work e-mail)
10. All previous officer FITREPS
For questions about the detailing process, general career guidance or your record, please contact myself or the Career Counselor (firstname.lastname@example.org) at 901-874-4621/4624 or DSN 882-4621/4624.
