Defense Courier Stations
Program Background
The Defense Courier Operations and Plans Directorate is responsible for executing the courier mission to provide secure, timely, and efficient end-to-end global distribution of classified and sensitive material for the United States and its allies. DCS is open to all rates through-out various billets. The tour length will be 36 months or Department of Defense (DoD) area tour for overseas assignment.
Defense Courier Stations (DCS)
DCS is for personnel who desire a unique experience out of their rate. Working with NSA, NGA, CIA and various other agencies across the United States and Overseas, you and your joint service members will receive, transport, store, transfer and account for highly classified and time sensitive material.
Responsibilities of a Courier
Being a Courier is a unique opportunity unlike any other in the military. Couriers support DOD entities and agencies outside the DOD by safeguarding and transporting classified and sensitive material.

Courier stations play a vital role in supporting DOD interests and agencies across the globe. Couriers are able to master a logisitcs skillset that will broaden their military experience as well as have the opportunity to lead in a small team environment.
Special Duty Assignment pay of $75 a month.
Service Member will be assigned to a joint environment, making them eligible for joint-tour decorations and joint quarterly/annual awards.
All qualified couriers will receive a TS/SCI clearance.
Additionally, you will:
Coordinate with various federal and government agencies to better understand their operating procedures.
Become an Ambassador for the Navy by providing a more transparent understanding to various agencies.
Requirements
U.S Citizen
Paygrade of E-5 and above or have been selected to E-5
Possess mature judgment, highly reliable, and be diplomatic and courteous
No physical condition that prevents frequent travel onboard aircraft
Valid State driver’s license
Able to lift at least 50 pounds
Free of chronic pain that prevents sitting or standing for long periods of time, bending over, carrying materials, and enduring long missions on aircraft or in vehicles
Must not have received court-martial or non-judicial punishment within the last 5 years
Need to complete the defense courier training course, Levels I & II, upon reporting
Willing to endure frequent and lengthy missions
Screening will be conducted for selection status to billet
NAVPERS 1306/92 sections A, B, C, D2 and D3 will need to be completed
All applicants must be able to hold or must currently hold a Top Secret security clearance
