The April Promotion message has been released, NAVADMIN 069/19.
Per NAVADMIN 265/18, the requirement to display officer photographs to selection boards has been reinstated.
The NDAA for 2018 changed the due date for letters to officer promotion boards. Correspondence must arrive not later than 10 calendar days before the convening date of the board. During your review of MILPERSMAN 1420-010, Communication with Officer Promotion Selection Boards, be mindful that this change has yet to be incorporated. However, the change has been mandated by law and officially disseminated through applicable Notices of Convening. Most current information regarding communication with the selection board can be found in NAVADMIN 014/19.
PERS-801 sponsors all statutory reserve officer promotion selection boards for selection to the rank of O6 and below.
Pers-80 does not sponsor any of the administrative reserve boards, such as the Command/Non-Command Board (also known as the "Apply Board"), Reserve LDO/CWO Procurement Board, or FTS Redesignation Board. You will need to contact PERS-9. They have a link to the "Apply Program" on their page.
Correspondence for ALL boards conducted at NPC in Millington is to be sent to the NPC Customer Service Center. The address is provided within the annual notice of convening promotion selection boards. Please use ONLY that address for any letter to a PROMOTION Board. Do NOT send your letter to any other PERS code. If you do, you risk your correspondence getting lost or being received too late for the board. Also, you MUST use your FULL 10 digit DoD identification number on your cover letter and any document that does not already contain it. If you send from a .mil e-mail address, you should digitally sign your e-mail. Per MILPERSMAN 1420-010, cover letters must be signed with a wet (pen) or CAC signature that displays DoD ID number.
Encrypted email is the preferred method of submission. Please email packages to CSCSELBOARD@navy.mil. To ensure more efficient processing and for internal tracking purposes, a recommended subject line of your email is "FOUO: Board Package: Reserve [Rank] [Line/Staff] Board, FY-YYXXX" (where YY represents the last two digits of the fiscal year of the selection board and XXX represents the actual 3-digit board number and you insert the appropriate parenthetical information). FY-20 Board Schedule. You must encrypt your email due to PII policy.
If you sent a letter to a board, you may check on its status by logging in to this web site: Check on your letter to the board.
NOTE: Board membership will no longer be released until after the results of the board are released.
