 CDR Thomas J. Doran 
A native of Whiteford, MD, CDR Doran graduated from the United States Naval Academy in May of 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics.  After graduation, he began his aviation career at primary flight training in Pensacola, FL followed by advanced multi-engine training in Corpus Christi, TX where he earned his Wings of Gold in August of 2005.  Upon completing initial P-3C Fleet Replacement Training, CDR Doran joined the War Eagles of Patrol Squadron SIXTEEN (VP-16) in May of 2006 where he completed FIFTH, SIXTH and SEVENTH Fleet deployments, flying in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM and OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM.  While assigned to the War Eagles, CDR Doran served as the Public Affairs Officer, Schedules Officer, Assistant Training Officer and  Pilot Training Officer.
In June, 2009, CDR Doran reported for instructor duty at Patrol Squadron THIRTY (VP-30) based in Jacksonville, FL.  While attached to the Pro’s Nest he served as the Instrument Ground School and Department Head Coordinator, Foreign Military Sales Officer, Airframes Branch Officer, Aircrew Division Officer, Pilot Instructor Under Training/Standardization Officer, Instructor Pilot, and Instructor Under Training (IUT) Instructor Pilot.
In May, 2012, CDR Doran reported to the USS GEORGE H.W. BUSH (CVN-77) as a Catapult and Arresting Gear Officer and served as the V-2 Division Officer, TOPCAT and also qualified as Micro Boss.  During this tour, he deployed to the FIFTH Fleet AOR with the USS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER (CVN-69) as well as the USS GEORGE H.W. BUSH (CVN-77).
In July 2014, CDR Doran reported to the Air Command and Staff College in Montgomery, AL where he earned a Master’s Degree in Military Operational Art and Science and completed his Joint Professional Military Education Phase One.  He has also earned a Masters of Business Administration from Auburn University.
In November, 2015, CDR Doran reported to Patrol Squadron FORTY SIX (VP-46) for his Department Head tour where he served as the Safety NATOPS Officer, Training Officer, and Maintenance Officer.  While attached to the Grey Knights, he completed two deployments to the FIFTH and SEVENTH Fleet AORs.
Following his Department Head tour, CDR Doran was assigned to Navy Personnel Command, Aviation Officer Distribution (PERS-43) in November, 2017 where he served as the Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Force Placement Officer.
CDR Doran’s personal awards include the Air Medal (2), Navy Commendation Medal (4), Navy Achievement Medal (2) and various unit and campaign decorations.
