Welcome aboard the Greyhawks! Below are some helpful tips and a "heads up" on the check-in process and your first days, weeks, and months in Norfolk.
Upon arrival, check in with Admin on the second deck of LP-34/VAW-120 Hanger. (Through the quarterdeck doors, up the stairs, turn right and go to the end of hallway, last door on the left.)
After getting your orders stamped and receiving your check in sheet from Admin report directly Student Control in Building LP-49.
***LP-49 is secure facility. Tell the Quarterdeck Watch your are a new student checking in and Student Control will come to escort you.***
Uniform on the first day of check-in is khakis, after which flight suits are authorized.
- Expect your travel claim to be processed upon completion of SERE; it is vital that your orders are stamped by admin and/or the SDO upon arrival and departure from VAW-120. (This will expedite the travel claim process and ensure you don't run into any delays getting paid.)
Get your SERE medical screening within two weeks of your departure date for SERE. (If you only have a few days onboard VAW-120 prior to departing for SERE, obtain your SERE screening prior to transferring from your current command.)
